Project Objective The Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), under the authority, direction and control of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller), is responsible for performing all contract audits for the United States Department of Defense (DoD), and providing accounting and financial advisory services regarding contracts and subcontracts to all DoD Components responsible for procurement and contract administration. These services are provided in connection with negotiation, administration, and settlement of contracts and subcontracts. Bearing Point wanted a solution which could be used for issue management, its assignment and closure by the DCAA, as today’s compliance-driven environment requires an unprecedented focus on risk management, accurate internal controls, oversight and policy compliance. There was a need for a collaborative and communicative application with true business visibility and improved employee productivity. Solution Provided GrayCell Technologies Exports provided an application which allows Bearing Point to manage of the above mentioned issues and perform all contract audits for the Department of Defense. It provides and supports issue identification, tracking, and management, including a means for sharing information about issues through a centralized data repository. Issues are assigned to the concerned people. A closure date can be set and the concerned persons receive reminders till the issue is closed. The application keeps the team and management up to date on the issues’ progress. The solution has enhanced accountability and helps the client in faster resolution of issues resulting in significant cost savings. The project was developed using the .NET technology framework specifically ASP.Net with C# and SQL Server. Result The Issue Management application provided Bearing Point with an opportunity to increase transparency, gain better visibility into the business, identifying best practices and optimizing resource allocations, with rapid deployment and quick adoption. It is being used by executives, project managers and their highly efficient teams to help them overcome the real-world business challenges and keep them ahead of the pack. Our application helps enable clearer communication, lower costs, and better project implementations.
